An Experienced and Welcoming Host Family near Grenoble
The family R lives in Meylan, in a quiet and leafy neighbourhood just outside Grenoble. Their apartment is located next to a park, with walking paths right outside the building and convenient public transport connections to both Grenoble city centre and the university campus.
Both are teachers: the husband teaches History and Geography, while the wife teaches French as a Foreign Language. They enjoy cinema, theatre, concerts, reading and hiking, making their home a particularly welcoming environment for an international student wishing to discover French culture and practise the language.
The family has many years of experience welcoming international students and visiting teachers, including guests from the United States, Japan, India and Brazil. They particularly appreciate the cultural exchanges that come from sharing their home with people from different countries and backgrounds.
The student has a private bedroom overlooking the park, furnished with a double bed, desk, bookcase and wardrobe. The bathroom is shared with the family. The apartment also has Wi-Fi, a balcony, and a piano and guitar.
The location is very convenient for students attending Université Grenoble Alpes or the CUEF. The university campus can be reached in approximately 10 minutes by bus, while Grenoble city centre is around 15 minutes away by direct bus.
They are happy to welcome one independent international student, male or female, particularly for stays of one to three months. Different homestay options are possible, from breakfast with kitchen access to formulas including several dinners with the family each week.
